6.5.3
START/CLEAR Tags
After the FILE ID is entered, the user should move the cursor (using the down arrow key re-
peatedly) to the START tag and then press SELECT to advance to the Start Copy Menu. Note
also that from the START tag, the user can press the up arrow key to access the CLEAR tag.
If the user presses SELECT when the CLEAR tag is highlighted, the entire FILE ID entry field
will be blanked.
6.6
START COPY MENU
Once the user enters this menu from the Copy Menu, the mode selection field at the top of the
menu will be highlighted and will be defaulted to the full copy mode. The user can cycle
through the modes using the select key.
6.6.1
Full Copy/Copy from Last Copy Mode
If the user selects the FULL COPY mode or the COPY FROM LAST COPY mode, there is
nothing more to be entered. Use the DOWN arrow key once to move the highlight to the
START COPY tag and press SELECT to start the copy process.
6.6.2
Partial Copy Mode
If the user selects the PARTIAL COPY mode, the number of hours for the partial copy must be
selected. A digit selection will appear at the bottom of the menu. Press the DOWN arrow
twice to move the cursor to that line. Then enter the number of hours in the same way that
the word number selection was entered in the Word Monitor Menu. When this entry is com-
pleted, press the UP arrow once to highlight the START COPY tag, and then press SELECT
to start the copy process.
6.6.3
Copy From Marker Mode
(Note: Observe on the Main Menu that there is a number to the extreme right of SET MARK-
ER. This is the number of the last marker set in the memory marker select field.) If the user
selects the COPY FROM MARKER mode, the PI will need to know from which marker the
copy should start. Press the DOWN arrow twice to highlight the marker number field. Then
press SELECT repeatedly to cycle through marker numbers 1 through 15. When the desired
marker number is reached, highlight SET MARKER and SELECT.
When done, press UP arrow once to highlight the START COPY tag, and then press SELECT
to start the copy process. However, before the user does that, it is possible to set a memory
marker from this menu by pressing the down arrow until the user has highlighted the SET
MEM MARKER tag and pressing select. The PI will respond by displaying the memory marker
number set in the memory marker select field. Once the user has set a marker, the user
should allow the FDR to record data for a few minutes before copying from that marker.
NOTE:
If the copy is to be transferred to a separate ground station Readout Center (ROC),
note the memory marker number for retrieval purposes
.
