• Do not force the coil nailer. Use the correct tool
for your application as it will do the job better and
safer at the rate for which it was designed.
• Do not actuate the tool unless it is placed firmly
against the workpiece. If it is not in contact with the
workpiece, the nail may be deflected away from
your target.
• Do not drive the coil nailer over materials that is
too hard or too soft. Hard material can ricochet
nails and hurt people, soft material may be pen
-
etrated easily and cause the nails to fly freely.
• Do not drive nails into other nails.
• Use extra caution when driving nails into existing
walls or other blind areas to prevent contact with
hidden objects or persons on other side (e.g.,
wires, pipes, electrical cables.)
• After driving a nail, the tool may spring back
(“recoil”) causing it to move away from the work
surface. To reduce risk of injury always manage
recoil by:
· always maintaining control of the tool and be
ready to counteract normal or sudden move
-
ments such as recoil.
· allowing recoil to move the tool away from work
surface.
· not resisting recoil so that the tool will be
forced back into the work surface.
· keeping face and body parts away from the
tool.
• When working close to an edge of a workpiece
or at steep angles use care to minimize chipping,
splitting, splintering, or free flight or ricochet of
nails, which may cause injury.
• Do not use this coil nailer for fastening electrical
cables. It is not designed for electric cable instal
-
lation and may damage the insulation of electric
cables thereby causing electric shock or fire
hazards. Furthermore the tool is not insulated from
coming into contact with electric power.
• Do not use the tool to perform other jobs than the
designated function. Especially do not use it as a
hammer. Impact on the tool will increase the risk of
damaged tool and accidental discharge of nails.
• Do not use the tool if safety warning label(s) are
missing or damaged.
• Do not remove, tamper with, or otherwise cause
tool operating controls to become inoperable. Do
not operate the tool if any portion of the tool oper
-
ating controls is inoperable, disconnected, altered,
or not working properly.
• The coil nailer should not be modified unless
authorized in the manual or approved in writing by
Kyocera Unimerco Fastening. Fail to comply can
lead to dangerous situations or injurys.
• Keep hands and body away from nail
discharge area (B) of the tool.
• Use only nails designated in the technical specifi
-
cations delievered together with this manual.
•
Be careful when handling nails, they may have
sharp edges and sharp points.
• Use only accessories made or recommended by
the tool manufacturer, or accessories that perform
equivalently to those recommended by Kyocera
Unimerco Fastening.
• Insert nails after connecting the compressor to
prevent unexpected nail firing.
• Use caution while removing a jammed nail. The
mechanism may be under compression and the
nail may be forcefully discharged while attempting
to free a jammed condition.
• Remove the compressed air when
· Not in use;
· Performing any maintenance or repairs;
· Clearing a jam;
· Elevating, lowering or otherwise moving the
tool to a new location;
· The tool is outside of the operator’s supervi
-
sion or control
· Removing nails from the magazine.
• Compressed air can cause severe injury.
• Always shut off air supply, and disconnect the tool
from air supply when not in use.
• Never direct compressed air at yourself or anyone
else.
• Always use the correct tool air plug (H) for the
hose coupling. The pressure must be removed
from the tool when the coupling joint is discon
-
nected.
• When using the tool do not exceed the maximum
operating pressure
P
s max.
• The tool must not be connected to a compressor
which potentially exceeds 175 psi or 12 bar.
