DL-2 Setting Up for a Cut
Measuring from the top of the door to your height is key to the set up, due to the face bore’s loca-
tion in the center of the machine. The standard DL-2 has one stop set to customer deadbolt speci-
fications, (You may order a second stop for face bore location as an option.) Both doorstops are
adjustable, and have factory pre-set measurement tapes calibrated to customer specifications. If a
different calibration is necessary, follow the procedures outlined below. Before calibrating, read
the entire instruction manual first, because it is necessary to operate the DL-2 to calibrate.
Door Stop
The standard DL-2 has one doorstop set to customer deadbolt specifications, and a spring-loaded
Face Bore stop. Both stops are factory set if your company provided specifications to KVAL
during manufacturing.

Face Bore Templates
The Face Bore template, sometimes mounted to a clamp on the movable fence, pivots out of the
way when plywood templates are used. The template will give a 2 1/8” lock bore. Inserts can be
acquired to allow cutting 1 5/8” holes. The template is reversible so that backsets of 2 3/8” and 2
¾” can be machined. Purchase additional alternate size inserts from KVAL.
Edge Detailing Machine
The face bore location is on the side bore drill carriage, and pivots into position when the DRILL
IN air switch is PUSHED ON the CONTROL CONSOLE. Once activating the DRILL IN switch,
PUSH the DOWN switch to lock the drill and template in position.
