Advanced Setup
Option 28 — Setting Up PROFIBUS Communication
Before
powering
on
the
PROFIBUS
network
or
powering
on
a
new
device
added
to
the
network,
you
have
to
assign
a
unique
address
to
each
of
the
devices/stations.
PROFIBUS
supports
128
different
addresses,
numbered
0
to
127.
However,
some
of
these
addresses
are
reserved.
It
is
best
to
follow
your
site
specific
slave
addressing
conventions.
The
Kurz
B
‐
Series
flow
meter
does
not
support
the
Change
Station
Address
function.
This
means
that
the
PROFIBUS
slave
address
cannot
be
changed
by
the
PROFIBUS
Master.
The
Kurz
B
‐
Series
will
be
delivered
with
PROFIBUS
slave
address
126.
This
address
has
been
defined
by
the
PROFIBUS
organization
to
be
available
for
installing
new
devices
to
the
bus.
The
PROFIBUS
slave
address
of
the
Kurz
B
‐
Series
flow
meter
is
set
using
its
local
keypad
and
display.
The
meter
must
be
put
into
PROGRAM
mode
and
the
access
code
is
entered
to
navigate
to
the
PROFIBUS
interface
menu
as
describe
below.
To
change
the
default
PROFIBUS
slave
address
using
the
attached
keypad:
1>
Press
P
.
2>
Enter
the
Advanced
Access
password,
and
then
press
E
.
3>
Press
2
to
invoke
the
Quick
Jump
option.
4>
Press
28
for
the
PROFIBUS
menu,
and
then
press
E
.
PROFIBUS ADDRESS
>1
The
PROFIBUS
Address
prompt
appears.
Note
The
address
can
be
from
0
to
125,
but
site
‐
specific
addressing
conventions
should
be
followed.
5>
Press
the
numeric
keys
to
enter
the
device
address,
and
then
press
E
.
DP FIRMWARE REV.
VERSION 1
The
current
version
of
the
B
‐
Series
PROFIBUS
firmware
appears.
This
is
read
only.
6>
To
change
the
value
press
C
to
clear
all
digits.
7>
For
each
digit,
press
a
number.
8>
Press
E
,
C
,
or
P
to
return
to
the
main
Program
mode
prompt.
9>
Press
H
to
save
the
change
to
the
EEPROM.
The
address
change
will
not
take
effect
until
the
flow
meter
is
power
cycled.
