Program Mode Advanced Setup
Option 19 — Setting Up Modbus Communication
The Modbus Communication menu is used to select between Modbus RTU or Modbus ASCII and
to setup the serial communication parameters.
To access the Modbus Communications menu in Program mode:

Press P .

Enter the Advanced access code, and then press E .

Press 2 to invoke the Quick Jump option.

Press 19 for the Modbus Communication Setup menu, and then press E .
The menu prompts you for the flow meter device address.

The address can be from 1 to 247. The default address is 1 for single ‐ point flow meters.

Press the numeric keys to enter the device address, and press then E .
The menu prompts you for the Modbus mode.
MODBUS MODE
>MODBUS RTU ^v
The Modbus mode defines whether the master/slave device will communicate using
the Modbus ASCII or Modbus RTU protocol. Modbus RTU is the default.
Note
The B ‐ Series Modbus setup for ASCII transmission framing is not
supported by KzComm. If KzComm is to be used over Modbus,
RTU transmission framing must be used.
