7. Checking the pressure and wear
of tire and the wheel nuts
1. Check the pressure and wear of tire and the wheel
nuts according to Checking the tire pressure on
page 124 and Changing the tires on page 124.
(1) Ground level (A) Deficient
(B) Correct
(C) Excessive
(1) Wheel nut Tightening torque 490 N ⋅ m
8. Checking and cleaning the
radiator and the oil cooler
1. Open the engine cover.
(See Opening and closing the engine cover on
page 95)
(1) Engine cover
(2) Key hole (A) Open
2. Check the fins and ribs for clogging.
If the fins or ribs are clogged, you should clean out
them with a jet of compressed air or water.
3. Check the cooling-water hoses for damage.
4. If the cooling-water hoses are broken or cracked,
change them.
5. Also, check to see that the hose clamps are tight.

NOTE :
• Clean the fins and the ribs of radiator and oil
cooler in order not to overheat the engine
and allow free flow of air through the cooling
elements.
• Pressure of compressed air must be as
follows.
Pressure of compressed air Under 205 kPa (2.1 kgf/cm
2
)
• When cleaning the radiator and oil cooler
with compressed air, the fins can be
damaged. Pay attention not to damage.
9. Checking the steering
1. Start the engine.
2. Turn the steering wheel left and right and check the
operation.
