5 Commissioning and Operation
5.1 Measures Before Commissioning
The following measures must have been performed prior to commissioning:

Operate the hardware
according to specification The operating conditions are defined in the operation manual and
in the manual and must be complied with.
Check the proper
installation of the
measuring system The V2A coded band must be mounted fix in the top and the bot-
tom of the elevator shaft; it must be sufficiently secured against
slipping.
The tension force must be 100 … 150 N [22.48 … 33.72 lbs].
The lateral distance from the coded band to moving parts must be
at any point at least 50 mm [0.16 ft].
Sensor oscillation in the transversal direction shell not exceed
10 mm [0.03 ft].
Clean the coded band
during commissioning The coded band must be checked for dirt and foreign bodies and
cleaned during commissioning.
Check the measuring
system prior to
commissioning In every new installation, the sensor must run once along the
whole installed coded band in order to check the complete sys-
tem for errors or wrong installation.
5.2 Status LED
A one-color LED signals the status of the measuring system:
Display LED Meaning
LED off No voltage
LED on Supply voltage is applied to the device
5.3 Parameterizing
The measuring system can only be parameterized when the elevator plant system is entirely
connected.

operation manual and sensor manual, as well as with the corres-
ponding documents of the evaluation unit or of the elevator control.
