Switching off ABS (990 Adventure)
KTM recommends riding with ABS at all times. However, situations may arise in which
ABS is not advantageous.
Condition
Vehicle is standing, engine is running.
–
Press button
for 3 - 5 seconds.
The ABS warning lamp begins flashing to indicate that ABS is deactivated.

Starting off

Pull the clutch lever, engage 1st gear, release the clutch lever slowly and simultaneously open the throttle carefully.

Danger of accidents
Abrupt load alterations can cause the vehicle to get out of control.

Avoid abrupt load alterations and sudden braking actions, and adapt your speed to the road conditions.

If you change down at high engine speed, the rear wheel can lock up.

Do not change into a low gear at high engine speed. The engine races and the rear wheel can lock up.

Malfunctions caused by incorrect ignition key position.
–
Do not change the ignition key position during a journey.
