19.2 Changing the engine oil and filter, cleaning the oil screens

Warning
Danger of scalding Engine oil and gear oil get very hot when the motorcycle is ridden.
–
Wear appropriate protective clothing and safety gloves. In case of burns, rinse immediately with lukewarm water.

Environmental hazard Hazardous substances cause environmental damage.

Oil, grease, filters, fuel, cleaners, brake fluid, etc., should be disposed of as stipulated in applicable regulations.
Preparatory work
–
Remove the engine guard.

Main work
–
Stand the motorcycle on its side stand on a horizontal surface.
–
Place a suitable container under the engine.
–
Remove oil drain plugs 1 with the magnet, O-rings, and oil screen.
