Quick Installation Guide
This Quick Installation Guide provides you with the basic instructions. For more
detailed information, please refer to the Manual enclosed alone with your
purchased packages.
1. System Requirements
One or more PCs (desktop or notebook) with Ethernet interface
Broadband Internet access and user information.
Ethernet cables
Wireless LAN interface
2. Install the Wireless Broadband Router

Locate an optimum location for the Wireless Router. Ideally, the best location
is usually the center of your wireless network, with line of sight to all of your
workstations.

Make sure RJ45 connectors are fully inserted into the WAN port, and the
Broadband Modem.
3.
Power ON the router by connecting the enclosed power adapter.
4.
Adjust the direction of antennas. Try to place the AP at a position that can
best cover your wireless network.
5.
If this Router works correctly, The Power LED is lit constantly and Status
LED blinks after successful system boot.
3. Configuration via web-based Admin Tool
** Notice: To configure the Wireless Router, the manager PC must be set to the
same IP subnet network.
For example, when the default network IP address of the
AP is 192.168.1.1, then the manager PC should set to 192.168.1.x (where x is a
number between 1 ~ 254, except the number taken by the router.)

To access through WLAN, please also make sure SSID, channel, and the WEP
are configured properly on your PC wireless adapter, in order to associate with the
wireless router. (
Default values are SSID: default, Channel: 6, WEP: disabled
)
Refer to WLAN adapter manual to make the configuration on your PC.
To Access the Web-based Admin Tool
1.
Run Internet Explorer 5.0 or above and enter the default IP address
http://192.168.1.1
2.
Enter the password in the password dialog box if you have modified the
password. Or Enter
“admin”
for both user name and password fields if this
were your first login to the router.

4. Quick Setup Wizard
KWG-401 provides a setup wizard for guided quick configuration to your wireless
router. Within this section, you will need the PPPoE dial up or static IP information
from you ISP. By default, the setup wizard will prompt automatically.
Click on the
and follow the on-screen instruction to complete the setup.
If you need more detail information than the instruction provided on-screen, you
may refer to the KWG-401 User’s Guide for more detailed instruction.
4. Configure for Wireless Security
KWG-401 provides three security encription modes to protect your wireless
network access, including WEP, WPA RADIUS, WPA-PSK, MAC address filtering.
This guide will cover the commonly used WEP, WPA-PSK, and MAC address
filtering security settings.
WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy)

WEP is a key shared between Wireless router and your computer, and identical key
must provided to both of your wireless router and wireless PC clients.
