Setting the flywheel brake 16.25

Turn the flywheel manually in working direction until the Variable Filling System (VFS) is in zero
position.
Measure and note down the dimension Y between the edge of the anvil (14) and the brake
plate (15).
Pull the sensing rake to the rear to initiate the Variable Filling System (VFS).
Turn the flywheel manually in working direction until the grooved ball bearing (7) is on the
highest position (area “I”) of the cam disc,

Measure and note down the dimension Y between the edge of the anvil (14) and the brake
plate (15).

The dimension Y and the dimension Z must be identical.

If dimension Y and dimension Z
do not
have the same value, the brake yoke must be set.
Setting the brake yoke
Loosen the screw connection (20).
Move the brake yoke.
Tighten the screw connection (20).
Pre-tension the spring (21) of the brake to a dimension of
X=55 mm
(spring length only).
Recheck the absorbing unit again and repeat the procedure until the dimension Y and
dimension Z are identical.

The flywheel brake is mounted on the left-hand side of the flywheel. If the braking effect is no
longer sufficient when actuating the flywheel brake, it can be readjusted by extending the
spindle (1).

Dimension X=186 mm

Setting the cutting length
The cutting length is set identically on both right and left machine side. The setting procedure on
the left side of the machine is described below. The same applies for the right side of the
machine.
The cutting length can be set in two ways:

via blade group control system or
•
via the number of inserted blades in the blade cassette.
