Maintenance

6.9 Chain tension

6.9.1 Pick-up drive unit

The pick-up drive unit is located at the front on the left
hand side of the feeder wagon.
Spring length under tension X = 30 mm

6.9.2 Scraper-floor advance

The scraper floor of the feeder wagon is tensioned
automatically. The operation of the tensioning device must
be checked regularly.

After long periods of operation, the
scraper-floor chain may strech so that
automatic tensioning is no longer
guaranteed. In this case, the chain must
be shortened by 2 or 4 links.

The tension spring is under high tension.
Repair work on the automatic tensioning
device must only be carried out by
specialists using an assembly tool which
is suitable for the purpose.

Procedur on the removal of chain links

•

Hook spring clamping fixture (2) and pull the threated
spindle (2) outwards until the screw (5) can be
removed.

•

Relieve tension spring (3) completely via a threated
spindle

•

Temper the floor conveyor as far as possible with the
help of a screw M16x170 (4), until the clamping
wedge (6) can be pulled against the clamping direction
over the toothing and a screw can be put through the
bore (7). Remove screw (4) again.
