Do not Close Whiteboard
– The current whiteboard page remains on the main
display.
File Sharing
Select in the VIA settings template (see Configuring VIA Settings Template on page 22 ) one
of the following options for defining the type of files that can be shared between participants:
▪
All Files
– Share any type of file between participants.
▪
Selected Files
– Limit file types shared between participants to the defined list. Click
the edit icon to add or remove file types from the allowed list.
Moderator Mode
A meeting moderator has control over certain VIA functions that affect other participants
(see
Becoming Meeting Moderator on page 71 ). Moderator Mode settings define who can
become the meeting moderator and what features are activated when a participant becomes
the moderator.
When Moderator mode is configured as “Database based” or “Active Directory” you can also
define who can join a VIA meeting.
Configure the following settings in the VIA settings template (see Configuring VIA Settings
Template on page 22 ) that affect Moderator Mode and user accounts:

Activate Moderator Mode
– Allow participants to become moderator of a meeting.
When this feature is activated, a Become Moderator button appears for each eligible
participant on the Participants tab of the user dashboard.
Select one of the following to define who can join a meeting and who can become moderator:

Database Based
– Only users with accounts created in
VIA Connect database can
join a meeting and become moderator (see User Management on page 11 ).
▪
Active Directory
– Only users defined in the Active Directory can join a meeting and
become moderator (see Configuring Active Directory Moderator Mode on page 28 ).
▪
Basic
–Anyone can join a meeting and become moderator. To require a password
before becoming moderator, (see Security on page 29 ).
