E.3.1
USB Interface
The Smart Extension Module provides one high-speed, full-speed, and low-speed capable USB
2.0 port. One USB peripheral may be connected to this port. For connecting more USB devices
to the CP3003-SA than there are available ports, an external USB hub is required.
The USB 2.0 port on the Smart Extension Module is implemented as one 4-pin, type A USB con-
nector, J2, with the following pinout.

When connecting peripheral devices to USB ports, always ensure that
appropriate cables are used.

The CP3003-SA host interfaces can be used with maximum 500 mA continu-
ous load current as specified in the Universal Serial Bus Specification, Revi-
sion 2.0. Short-circuit protection is provided. All the signal lines are
EMI-filtered.
