Getting ready

This chapter provides information that is important to know before this device is used.

1.1

Overview

By installing image controller PCL-4000, this machine can be used as a network-
compatible PCL printer. In order to use the PCL printing functions, install onto the 
computer the PCL printer driver included with the image controller. In addition, since 
the machine is preprogrammed with scanning functions, paper documents can easily 
be converted to electronic data and used, for example, with electronic filing allowing 
easy access to the information. Scanned image data (scan data) can be saved as TIFF 
or PDF files and sent to other computers through a network.
