Use the
ADF
or
original glass
to scan the original.

Positioning the Original in ADF
The
ADF
(Automatic Document Feeder) automatically feeds up to 100 sheets of the original directly to the
original scanning glass, starting with the top sheet.
To position the original in Normal mode

Arrange the original in order.

Position the original FACE UP (with page one UP).

Set the original in the same direction as that of the original
direction icon displayed on the Copy Screen.
Up to 100 sheets of the original can be set at a time.
NOTICE
Do not load more than 100 sheets of the original or over the limit
line indicated on the paper guides; otherwise the original may
be misfed or damaged, or machine trouble may be caused.
If originals are set in the wrong direction, the copy result may
not be satisfactory. Be especially careful when using duplex
mode, Staple, Fold & Staple, Multi Half-Fold or Booklet.
Do not set originals that are bound with staples or paper clips.
It could make original become dirty or rip.

Adjust paper guides to the original.
NOTICE
Do not open the
ADF
once you close the
ADF
. The selected
copy conditions may be altered automatically.

You need to specify the binding direction of copies when
making double-sided copies.

Please check the binding direction of the original when cop-
ying double-sided originals.
To position the original in Mixed mode
Mixed-size originals can be automatically scanned, 1 sheet at a time.
