Installing the transducer for use on trawlers
On trawlers, the physical installation of the SN90 transducer is made by designing a
blister or keel box. You can also install the transducer in the bow of the vessel.
On trawlers, the transducer must be installed facing forward. A blister or keel box must
be designed by the installation shipyard to fit the vessel’s hull. The same blister or hull
box may also be used for other sonar and echo sounder transducers.
The distance from the bow must be determined by the vessel's physical properties, the
location of the fishing gear during the fishing operations, and the desired coverage area.
You must also consider the noise factors.
