Connecting the USB cable between the Operating Panel and
the Processor Unit

The Operating Panel contains all necessary control functions for normal operation of the
SN90. It is connected to the Processor Unit using three cables. The USB interface cable
is used to read the trackball movements. It also allows you to connect a mouse to the
USB socket at the bottom of the panel.

Prerequisites

You must be equipped with a
standard set of tools. This tool set
must comprise the normal tools for
cable installation, such as different
screwdriver types, pliers, a cable
stripper and a soldering iron. Each
tool must be provided in various
sizes. We recommend that all tools
are demagnetized to protect your
equipment. Depending on the tasks
at hand, additional tools may be
required.

Context

This is a standard commercial USB data cable. It has a quadratic USB connector in the
Operating Panel end (B-plug), and rectangular USB connector in the Processor Unit end
(A-plug). The cable length is 4.5 meters.

This cable is provided with the SN90 delivery.

Procedure

Locate the USB connector
(identified with the arrow) on the
rear side of the Processor Unit.

Connect the cable from the
Processor Unit to the USB
connector under the Operating
Panel

3

Secure the connector under the
Operating Panel with a cable strip as indicated in the photo.
