Connecting power and ground to the Transceiver Unit
The Transceiver Unit must be connected to AC mains, and it must be properly grounded.
Prerequisites
You must be equipped with a standard set of tools. This tool set must comprise
the normal tools for cable installation, such as different screwdriver types, pliers, a
cable stripper and a soldering iron. Each tool must be provided in various sizes. We
recommend that all tools are demagnetized to protect your equipment. Depending on the
tasks at hand, additional tools may be required.
Context
The mains voltage for the
Transceiver Unit is 230
VAC. It is connected to
the Uninterruptible Power
Supply (UPS). The cabinet
is connected to vessel ground.
Two cables are used.
• AC mains cable: This cable is provided with the SN90 delivery.
• Ground cable: The ground connection is made using a thick stranded (or yellow/green)
cable making a solid connection between the cabinet and the bulkhead. This cable is
provided with the SN90 delivery.
Procedure
1
Locate the power input (identified with the arrow) at the bottom of the Transceiver
Unit.
2
Connect the AC mains cable to the relevant Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS).
3
Verify that the stranded (or yellow/green) grounding cable is properly connected
between the Transceiver Unit and the bulkhead.
4
Connect the AC mains cable from the heat exchanger to the relevant Uninterruptible
Power Supply (UPS).
