RJ45 High speed Ethernet cable (1000Base-t)

Most high speed data connections between the EK80 system units are made using
Ethernet cables. These cables may also be used between the EK80 and peripheral
equipment.

Ethernet cables are available
commercially in different lengths,
colours and categories. Normally,
CAT-5E and CAT-6 cables are
used in local area networks with
bandwidths exceeding 100 Mbit.

Minimum cable requirements

It is very important that high-quality Ethernet cables are used. You must use CAT-5E
quality or better. If you use cables with lower bandwidth capacity you will reduce the
EK80 performance.
