Place a container under drain plug (2) to catch the oil.

Remove drain plug (2), and loosen plug (3) to drain the oil.
Loosen drain plug (3) gradually so that the oil will not spout
out, and then remove it.
4.
After draining the oil, tighten drain plug (2) and plug (3).
Tightening torque: 68.6 ± 9.8 Nm {7.0 ± 1.0 kgm}
5.
Remove bolts (4) (4 pieces) and move tube (5).
6.
Remove strainer (6).
7.
Remove all dirt from strainer (6), then wash it in clean die-
sel fuel or flushing oil.
If strainer (6) is damaged, replace it with a new one.
8.
Install strainer (6) to the case.
Replace O-ring of tube (5) with a new one and install tube
(5).
9.
Add the refill capacity of oil through oil filler port (F).
10. After adding oil, check that the oil level is correct. For de-
tails, see “METHOD FOR CHECKING OIL LEVEL IN
TRANSMISSION CASE, ADDING OIL (4-23)”.
11. Check the transmission case for oil leakage.

Immediately after the engine is stopped, its parts and oil are still very hot and may cause burn injury.
Wait for the temperature to go down, and then start the work.
Items to be prepared
• Filter wrench
• Wrench (Width across flats: 24 mm)

Loosen bolts (1) (9 pieces) and remove cover (2).
