HANDLING FUEL QUICK CHARGE
6-7
PROCEDURE FOR OPERATING FUEL CHARGE
6
WARNING
q
Fuel causes fire, so be extremely careful not to let the fuel overflow when filling with fuel. If any fuel
spills, wipe it off completely. If it spills onto the ground, remove the soil that is contaminated with fuel.
q
Fuel is a dangerous substance that catches fire easily, so never bring it near to any flame or fire.
q
Before adding fuel, lower the work equipment to the ground, stop the engine, and set the lock lever to
the LOCK position.
q
Do not hold the lock plate by hand to operate it. There is danger that your hand may get caught
between the machine at the lock plate.
q
When lowering the lever operating handle, never let go of it until the handle is completely lowered. If
is not completely lowered, and you suddenly release it, your hand may get caught by the fuel quick
charge lever or lever operating handle, and this may cause injury.
q
When operating the stopper, be careful not to get a finger pinched.
NOTICE
q
After completing the fuel filling operation, check that the lock bar of the lever operating handle is
securely held in position by the lock plate. If it is not held in position and the machine is operated,
there is danger that the vibration of the machine may cause the fuel quick charge lever to fly out and
break.
q
If the fuel quick charge lever has come down and is at the fuel charge position, the proximity switch is
actuated and the PPC (proportional pressure control pilot) lock is applied, so it will be impossible to
swing or drive the machine, or operate the work equipment. When the fuel quick charge lever is
stowed, the lock is released
If the fuel quick charge lever is stowed, but the lock is not released, see “ACTION WHEN MACHINE
DOES NOT MOVE BECAUSE OF FAILURE IN PROXIMITY SWITCH (6-11)“.
Prepare for an oil filler pump unit and nozzle (Wiggins- made ZZ9A1 or an equivalent).
