1. Before disconnecting or connecting a connec-
tor between the engine controller and engine,
be sure to turn the starting switch OFF.
2. If a T-adapter is inserted in or connected to a
connector between the engine controller and
engine for troubleshooting, do not start the
engine.

You may turn the starting switch to the
OFF or ON position but must not turn it to
the START position.
