METHOD FOR DECREASING TRACK TENSION

WARNING
It is extremely dangerous to release the grease by any method other than the following procedure.
If track tension is not relieved by this procedure, ask your Komatsu distributor for repair.
1.
Loosen the valve (1) gradually to discharge the grease.
Rotate the valve (1) for loosening up to 1 time.
2.
If the grease does not come out smoothly, move the ma-
chine forward and backward a short distance.
3.
Tighten the valve (1).
4.
Run the engine at low idle, move the machine slowly for-
ward (by the length of track on the ground), then stop the
machine, so that the you can check that the tension is cor-
rect.
5.
Check the track tension again, and if the tension is not cor-
rect, adjust it again.
If the track tension cannot be decreased by the above procedure, ask your Komatsu distributor for repair.
METHOD FOR REPLACING BUCKET TEETH (XS)
Replace the bucket teeth before the wear reaches to the adapter.

WARNING
• It is dangerous if the work equipment moves by mistake when the tooth is being replaced.
Set the work equipment in a stable condition, set the lock lever securely to LOCK position, and stop
the engine.
• Broken pieces may fly during the replacement work, so always wear the protective equipment such
as protective eyeglasses and gloves.
• If the tooth pin cannot be removed by this method, ask your Komatsu distributor to have the re-
placement performed for safety.
• As the pin is driven out with strong force, it is dangerous that the pin may fly out. Check that there
is no people around the machine.
• Provide a socket wrench of 16 mm width.

Place a block under the bucket so that the pin (1) is driven
out, and stop the engine.
