PRECAUTIONS FOR HYBRID SYSTEM
This machine uses a high-voltage electrical system and some parts become very hot. If any mistake is made in
handling, there is danger that it may cause an electric shock or serious burn injury or death.
• Do not perform disassembling of, stepping on, or high-pressure cleaning of the hydraulic components and
high-voltage electrical wiring (orange).
• If the hybrid component or high-voltage electrical wiring (orange) is broken in an accident such as tipping
over, be sure to stop the engine. Never touch them carelessly.
• If a fire occurs, use a fire extinguisher to extinguish a fire. An attempt of extinguishing a fire with a small
amount of water may cause an electric shock. In case using water to extinguish a fire, use a large amount
of water with a fire hydrant, etc.
• If the hybrid component has got into water, ask your KOMATSU distributor for the inspection and repair.
• If it gets into water during operation, stop the engine immediately and get out from the machine.
• If any abnormality is detected in the hybrid system, the swing operation becomes slower or stops automati-
cally. Set the machine in a safe posture, lower the work equipment to the ground, and stop the engine.
If it is necessary to perform the swing operation to avoid danger when the swing is stopped due to the sys-
tem problem, set the bucket height to just above the ground, and follow the swing procedures by referring
to “IF TROUBLES ON HYBRID SYSTEM OCCUR (3-269)”.
PRECAUTIONS FOR ELECTROMAGNETIC WAVES
Precautions for electromagnetic waves from outside
When any abnormality occurs, turn the starting switch to OFF position and stop the hybrid system.
Precautions for electromagnetic waves from machine
The electromagnetic waves from the hybrid components may affect a medical instrument such as a pacemaker.
Anyone using a medical instrument such as a pacemaker should consult the manufacturer of the instrument be-
forehand.
