METHOD FOR USING BLOCK

WARNING
Select a firm flat place.
Put strong blocks under the undercarriage to stabilize the machine and be extremely careful when per-
forming the operation.
1.
Raise the machine off the ground by using the boom and arm.
When doing this, operate the levers slowly.
2.
Place block (5) under the raised track and make sure that
the machine is stable.
3.
Operate the boom slowly and lower the machine.
When doing this, check that the machine is always stable.
METHOD FOR CHECKING GAS SPRING

WARNING
The gas spring is charged with high-pressure nitrogen gas, so improper handling may cause an explo-
sion resulting in serious personal injury or death. When handling, always observe the following.
• Do not disassemble.
• Do not bring open flame close to it or do not dispose of it in fire.
• Do not perform drilling, welding or flame-cutting.
• Do not hit or roll it, or subject it to any impact.
• When disposing of it, the gas must be released. Ask your Komatsu distributor to have this work per-
formed.
