3.
Loosen the bolts (3) (2 pieces).
There is no need of removing bolts (3). Do not loosen it too
far.
REMARK
Loosening the bolt (3) allows the compressor (5) to move
around the mounting position of bolt (4).
4.
Move the compressor (5) to the direction (D) to stretch the
compressor belt.
5.
Press the midpoint between the drive pulley (A) and com-
pressor pulley (B) with a finger (approximately 58.8 N
{6 kg} ).
If deflection (C) is 6 to 9 mm, the belt tension is normal.
If the deflection is out of the standard, adjust it to the
standard value by repeating the steps 4 and 5.
6.
When the belt tension becomes appropriate, tighten the
bolts (3) (2 pieces) to fix.
Tightening torque : 98 to 123 Nm {10 to 12.5 kgm}
7.
After fixing, check again that the belt tension is proper.
Adjust it again if the tension is not within the proper range.
8.
Check each pulley for damage, wear of the V-groove, and the wear of the V-belt. In particular, be sure to
check that the V-belt is not touching the bottom of the V-groove.
9.
Replace the belt with a new one if the belt is stretched and has no allowance for adjustment, or has slipping
sound or squeak because of cuts or cracks of the belt.
NOTICE
• When the new V-belt is installed, readjust it after operating for 1 hour.
• When replacing the V-belt, be careful not to damage the electric wiring of the cooling fan.
• Check each pulley for damage, wear of the V-groove, and the wear of the V-belt. In particular, be
sure to check that the V-belt is not touching the bottom of the V-groove.
• Replace the belt with a new one if the belt is stretched and has no allowance for adjustment, or has
slipping sound or squeak because of cuts or cracks of the belt.
EVERY 500 HOURS MAINTENANCE
Maintenance for every 100 and 250 hours should be performed at the same time.
METHOD FOR LUBRICATING
NOTICE
• If any unusual noise is generated from any greasing point, perform the greasing regardless of the
greasing interval.
• Perform the greasing every 10 hours for the first 50 hours of operation on a new machine. Also, per-
form the greasing at 250 hours and 500 hours of operation on a new machine.
• After the machine is subjected to digging work in the water, be sure to grease the wet pins.
• When performing the heavy-duty operations, such as hydraulic breaker operations, perform the
greasing every 100 hours.
