METHOD FOR CHECKING WATER SEPARATOR, DRAINING WATER AND SEDI-
MENT

WARNING
• Immediately after the engine is stopped, all the parts are still very hot, and may cause burn injury.
Wait for the temperature at all the parts to go down, and then start the work.
• The water separator serves to separate the water mixed in the fuel. Accordingly, when draining the
water, fuel is drained together. Never bring any open flame near the drained water.

Open the engine side cover on the left side of the ma-
chine.
The water separator forms one unit with the fuel prefilter
(1).

Check the water level and sediment through the transpar-
ent cup (2).
3.
If the water and sediment are accumulated, drain them ac-
cording to the following procedure.
1) Place a container to receive the water under the drain
hose (3).
2) Loosen the plug (4) and drain the water.
3) When a certain amount of water and sediment in
transparent cup (2) start to be drained, tighten the
plug (4).
Tightening torque: 2.45 to 3.43 Nm {0.25 to 0.35 kgm}

WARNING
• Immediately after the engine is stopped, its parts and oil are still very hot and may cause burn in-
jury. Wait for the temperature to go down, and then start the work.
• If the oil filler cap is removed without releasing the internal pressure, oil will spurt out, so turn the
oil filler cap slowly to release the internal pressure, then remove it carefully.

Stop the machine on a level place.
If the machine is inclining, make it level before checking.
