• Stow the control box in the stowed position (B) always when open or close the front window. Return the
control box in the original position (A) immediately after open or close the front window. Do not start the
engine when the control box is in the stowed position (B).
• Open or close the front window slowly with careful attention not to interfere the control box.
• Improper setup can lead to a machine failure or serious injury or death caused by malfunction. Stop the
work immediately if any abnormality is found during the work.
• Relying only on the monitor screen of the control box for performing the work is dangerous. See with your
own eyes when perform the work.
Consult a Komatsu distributor when the intelligent Machine Control devices are used along with other systems.
The system malfunction, such as communication error between devices may occur.
PRECAUTIONS RELATED TO SEMI-AUTO MODE
• Be sure to perform the warm-up operation before starting the work. If the work equipment is operated with-
out sufficient warming-up operation of the machine, response of the work equipment to movement of the
control lever will be slow. There is a danger that the work equipment may not respond as the operator in-
tends, or the semi-auto limited digging mode may not operate normally.
Warm up the engine adequately especially in the cold weather. Start the work after checking that the work
equipment moves smoothly.
• Improper use of the semi-auto limited digging mode can lead to an unexpected move of the work equip-
ment, or the semi-auto limited digging mode may not operate normally.
Refer to the content of “SEMI-AUTO MODE”, and get a full understanding of it before start using the ma-
chine.
• Perform calibration before start using the semi-auto limited digging mode. There is a danger that the work
equipment may not respond as the operator intends if it is operated with semi-auto limited digging mode
without calibration.
• Check the bucket configuration before start using the semi-auto limited digging mode. There is a danger
that the work equipment may not respond as the operator intends if it is operated with semi-auto limited
digging mode whose bucket configuration is different from the bucket actually installed.
PRECAUTIONS FOR TRANSPORTATION
When the machine is transported on a trailer, serious personal injury or death may result because of the acci-
dent during transportation. Always observe the following.
• Always check the machine dimensions carefully. Depending on the work equipment and optional devices
installed, the machine weight, transportation height, and overall length differ.
• Check beforehand that all bridges and other structures on the transportation route are strong enough to
withstand the combined weight of the transporter and the machine being transported.
• This machine may need to be divided into components for transportation depending on the regulation.
When transporting the machine, consult your Komatsu distributor.
PRECAUTIONS WHEN LOADING AND UNLOADING
If handling is improper when loading or unloading the machine, it is dangerous that the machine may tip over or
fall. It requires particular attention. Always observe the following.
• Perform loading and unloading on a firm, level ground only. Avoid road edge or place near the cliff.
• Never use the work equipment to load or unload the machine. There is danger that the machine may fall or
tip over.
