2.8.13 PRECAUTIONS TO BE TAKEN WHEN

HANDLING THE BATTERY AND THE
ALTERNATOR

When repairing the electrical system, disconnect the battery or
turn the battery main switch anticlockwise to shut off power.

IMPORTANT
• Disconnect first the negative earth cable (–) and then the

positive cable (+).

At the end of the operation, reconnect first the positive ca-
ble (+) and then the negative cable (–).

If electric welding operations are to be carried out on the ma-
chine, it is necessary to disconnect the battery and also the al-
ternator.

2.8.14 PRECAUTIONS CONCERNING THE

STARTER

Start the engine only when correctly seated in the driving posi-
tion.

Do not start the engine by tampering with the terminals of the
starter, since the machine may move.

Sudden or accidental movements of the machine may cause
serious injury or even death.
