Operation
Diaphragm pump N630.12
38
Translation of Original Operating and Installation Instruction, english, KNF 318761-318764 02/22
Vapors as medium The service life of the diaphragm can be extended, if no condensate forms
in the pump. Therefore:
à
Perform any work with saturated or near-saturated vapors only with a
warm pump.
à
KNF recommends: When pumping corrosive media, flush the pump
before switching off (see Chapter
) to extend
the service life of the diaphragm.
7.2 Information on switching the pump on and off
Switching on the pump
The pump must not be started up against pressure or vacuum dur-
ing switch-on. This also applies during operation after a brief power
failure. If a pump starts up against pressure or vacuum, the pump
may block, thereby activating the thermal switch or triggering device
for the PTC thermistor sensors and switching off the pump.
à
Ensure that normal atmospheric pressure is present in the lines when
switching on.
Switching off/deactivating the pump
à
Establish normal atmospheric pressure in the lines (relieve pump
pneumatically).
Recommissioning
à
Before recommissioning, observe the applicable standards, guidelines,
regulations and technical standards at the electrical connection.
Inspecting the pump
à
Inspect the pump periodically for external damage or leakage.
