3.4.1.10 A.L.S.
A.L.S. (Anti Lag System): This feature can be used in
order to maintain boost pressure (only with
turbocharged engines) during
‘closed throttle’
situations to eliminate turbo lag. With the help of an
electronic air-valve which can make a bypass around
the throttle body, the turbocharger can keep on
pumping air into the engine.
To prevent the engine from over-revving the ignition
can be retarded here at the different rpm levels. For
cooling of the engine extra fuel can be added. To limit
the boost pressure also a fixed PWM value can be set.
The fuel enrichment and PWM boost are both
percentages.
If using variable A.L.S. by connecting a potentiometer signal you can vary the PWM value from 0 to
the value set here in the A.L.S. settings. The potentiometer must be in the range of 1
kΩ - 47 kΩ. The
variable signal from the potentiometer must be connected analog aux input on pin 4. The 5V for the
potentiometer can be branched from the 5V sensor supply on pin 14. The remaining pin of the
potentiometer must be connected to the ground on pin 17.
Warning:
When using the A.L.S. be aware of extreme wear and shortage of lifespan of
the turbo, exhaust-valves, exhaust manifold etc.
