Commissioning
4.1
Function
The device is a microprocessor-controlled laser surgery device according to the latest state of
the art. It produces laser light in the infrared wavelength range (980 nm) with a laser power of
up to 20 W that the user can apply via different laser fibers and applicators.
4.2
Installation
NOTICE
If the device temperature is not in the allowed operating range, the device cannot be
activated.
•
Leave the device in the application room before initial use until it has ambient
temperature. See also section 11 “Tecnical Data”, page 67.

When changing locations, make sure that the device temperature has adapted to the
ambient temperature before starting the device.
•
Set up the device on a level surface such as a table or cart.
•
The device must securely stand on all four device feet.
CAUTION
Risk of injury!
For installation on an elevated platform such as a ceiling-mounted supply unit or a slightly
inclined tray, two ball-head safety bolts should be mounted on the plate to secure the device
against shifting. The device has two receptacles for the ball-head safety bolts in its base.
Upon request, ball-head safety bolts are available from the manufacturer.

Ensure sufficient ventilation:

The cooling air inlets on the bottom of the device must not be covered by table cloths,
blankets or other objects.

Keep a distance of at least 20 cm to the wall on all sides to ensure proper cooling of
the laser.
