RV INSTALLATION

QUICK START GUIDE

INSTALLATION IN OTHER LOCATIONS

LOCATION

The RV Media Bluetooth Speaker Light operates on 12VDC and is intended to be installed
on the exterior of your RV, ideally replacing an existing awning light.  However, you can
install it anywhere outside or inside the RV as long as you can connect it to 12VDC.

INSTALLATION (see CONNECTION DIAGRAM at right)

If installing in place of an exterior awning light, please use the following steps as a guide:

  1.  Carefully remove the existing awning light.  Disconnect the RV’s wiring from the light

and keep the wiring accessible for the next step.

  2.  Connect the red wire of the supplied male power lead to the RV’s +12V wire, and

connect the black wire to the RV’s ground wire.  Make these connections with
suitable crimp terminals or solder and heat shrink.

  3.  Mark the location of the 4 mounting screws.  Be careful to ensure the screws will not

damage any materials behind the mounting surface.

  4.  Mount the optional locating brackets using the center screw (only) with the hook part

at the bottom.  These brackets provide reinforcement for the speaker plus they can
be used as a temporary, removable mounting option if required.

  5.  Apply the foam sealing tape around the back edge of the speaker.

  6.  Plug the female power lead attached to the speaker light into the male power lead

that was wired in step 2.  We suggest that this connection be secured with electrical
tape.  Mount the speaker using the 4 supplied screws taking care not to overtighten
the screws.  Please ensure the wiring is recessed as much as possible in the hole it
emerges from and ensure that any remaining cable is stored in the cavity on the back
of the speaker.  Press in the supplied screw covers to hide the screws.

  7.  To complete the installation, use a suitable RV sealant to seal around the edge of the

speaker to ensure a water tight seal.

NOTE: If you are unsure about any aspects of the installation, please seek the
advice of an experienced RV installation technician or electrician.

1.  Power Up

Turn on the speaker using the awning light switch if the speaker light has been
connected to the original awning light wiring.  If connected to the optional power
adaptor* (sold separately), use the switch on the speaker light (see CONNECTION
DIAGRAM at far right).

2.  Connect your Device

Open the Bluetooth menu on your device to search for your RV Media Bluetooth
speaker.  Its Bluetooth device name is “RV Media RGB.”

 Upon first use,

the speaker will not appear on your Bluetooth device list for

approximately 8 seconds.  Once it appears, select “RV Media RGB” to connect.
No pin number or password is required.

3.  Listen to Music!

You can stream music to the speaker without using the dedicated app.  Use the volume
control on your device to control the volume of the speaker.

4.  Get the App

The RV Media free app is available both on the Apple app store and
Google Play.  Search “RV Media” to download the app for your device.

5.  Using the App

To use the app, please follow these steps:

a) Turn on the RV Media Bluetooth Speaker Light.

b) Connect your device as per step 2 above.

c)  Open the app.  The app will search for the speaker then

open the Light On/Off and Color Selection menu.

d) Use the app to control the light functions.

6.  Bluetooth Connection & App Troubleshooting

After first connection of your device to the speaker, the speaker should automatically

reconnect the next time it is powered up (providing Bluetooth is enabled on your
device).  If you reopen the app but it fails to reconnect to the speaker, please close the
app then reopen it.  Please use the following procedures to close the app:

Apple - double click on the home button to open a list of apps running in the
background, then locate the RV Media app and swipe up to close the app.

Android - Launch the Recent Applications Menu (this varies from device to device so

check your user documentation if you are unsure how to find this menu).  Locate the RV

Media app and swipe to the right to close it.

7.  Reconnecting the Devices

When you power up the RV Media Speaker Light, it will first attempt to reconnect to a

device that was previously connected (this applies to the last 5 devices connected to
the speaker).

PLEASE SEE BACK OF THIS GUIDE FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON

OPERATION AND APP FUNCTIONS.

For installations in marine applications, home pergolas, pool and entertainment areas
etc., when a direct 12V power source is not available, please use the optional RV Media
110VAC/12VDC power adaptor* (sold separately).  The power adaptor converts 110VAC
to the required 12VDC and features an extra long 9 foot power cord to ensure it reaches
the Bluetooth Speaker.

NOTE:

The power adaptor should be located in a dry environment.
