3.7 Connecting the Test Leadwire
• It is extremely dangerous to connect the test leadwire incorrectly, as the
DUT may be charged to an excessively high voltage. Be sure to make con-
nections securely.
3.7.1 Connecting the test leadwire to the tester

Connecting the lo w-v olta ge test lead wire
1. Chec k f or a disconnection in the test leadwire .
2. Connect the lo w-v oltage test leadwire to the tester’ s LO W ter minal.

Connecting the high-v olta ge test lead wire
After connecting the lo w-v oltage test leadwire, follo w the procedure speci fi ed
belo w .
Connection pr ocedure
1. Press the ST OP s witch.
2. Con fi r m that the analog v oltmeter indicates “0. ”
3. Con fi r m that the D ANGER lamp is off .
4. Connect the high-v oltage test leadwire to the HIGH V OL T A GE ter minal.
5. Shor t-circuit the lo w-v oltage and high-v oltage test leadwires , and con -
fi r m that no high v oltage is output.
3.7.2 Connecting a DUT
After connecting the lo w-v oltage and high-v oltage test leadwires, connect a DUT by
follo wing the procedure speci fi ed belo w .
WARNING
LOW terminal
Test lead wire (black) to the DUT housing
Fix the test leadwire mounting
guard.
