4.7 A List of Error Messages
Command errors
An error/event number in the range [-199, -100] indicates that an IEEE 488.2 syntax
error has been detected by the instrument's parser. The occurrence of any error in
this class shall cause the command error bit (bit 5) in the event status register to be
set.

-102 Syntax error An u nrecognized command or data type w as enco u ntered.
-103 In v alid separator
The parser w as expecting a separator and enco u ntered an illegal
character.
-104 Data type error The parser recognized a data element different than one allo w ed.
-105 GET not allo w ed A Gro u p Exec u te Trigger w as recei v ed w ithin a program message.
-10 8 Parameter not allo w ed More parameters w ere recei v ed than expected for the header.
-109 Missing parameter Fe w er parameters w ere recei v ed than req u ired for the header.
-110 Command header error An error w as detected in the header.
-120 Nu meric data error
Generated w hen parsing a data element w hich appears to b e
n u meric, incl u ding the nondecimal n u meric types.
-130 S u ffix error Generated w hen parsing a s u ffix.
-131 In v alid s u ffix
The s u ffix does not follo w the syntax, or the s u ffix is inappropriate for
the KFM2151.
-134 S u ffix too long The s u ffix contained more than t w el v e characters.
-13 8 S u ffix not allo w ed
A s u ffix w as enco u ntered after a n u meric element w hich does not
allo w s u ffixes.
-140 Character data error Generated w hen parsing a character data element.
-141 In v alid character data
Either the character data element contains an in v alid character, or the
element is not v alid.
-144 Character data too Long The character data element contains more than t w el v e characters.
-14 8 Character data not allo w ed
A legal character data element w as enco u ntered w here prohi b ited b y
the KFM2151.
-150 String data error Generated w hen parsing a string data element.
-160 Block data error Generated w hen parsing a b lock data element.
-170 Expression error Generated w hen parsing an expression data element.
-1 8 0 Macro error Generated w hen defining a macro or exec u ting a macro.
