LANE KEEPING ASSIST (LKA)*
5
With the Engine Start/Stop button in the ON position, press the LKA button
A
to turn
the system ON or OFF. Once ON, the instrument cluster indicator
will illuminate white.
It will remain white when vehicle is traveling slower than 40 mph and the system does
not detect the lane markers. When the LKA system detects the lane markers and can
assist the steering, the LKA icon will illuminate green.
If the LKA system detects that you are moving outside of your lane, the system may give an audible warning and display
an LDW (Lane Departure Warning) alert on the instrument cluster. If the vehicle continues to move outside of the lane, LKA
can provide steering inputs, trying to prevent the vehicle from moving outside its lane.
To switch between LKA modes (LKA and Lane Departure Warning), go to Vehicle Settings in the navigation unit or in the
instrument cluster settings menu.
All systems will operate under the following conditions:
• The vehicle exceeds approximately 40 mph.
• The vehicle is between the lane markers.
• The LKA system recognizes the lane the vehicle is traveling in.
Lane Keeping Assist
– Provides an audible warning and can provide steering inputs when the system detects that you are
moving outside of your lane.
Lane Departure Warning
– Only provides an audible alert and a visible alert on the instrument cluster. The system will not
provide steering inputs in this mode.
In addition there are 2 levels of sensitivity for the audible warning which is accessed in the settings menu: Normal and Late.
FORWARD COLLISION-AVOIDANCE ASSIST (FCA)*
5
FCA is designed to help alert the driver and, under certain conditions, apply emergency braking
when rapidly approaching a vehicle that is slowing down, braking, or stopped. Initially, the FCA
provides Forward Collision Warning (FCW) when it detects a potential collision with a vehicle or
pedestrian in front by emitting an audible warning and visual alert on the instrument cluster
A
.
Adjust the alert settings (Active Assist, Warning Only, Off) in either the instrument cluster
or audio settings. FCA is ON by default and can be turned OFF in the Vehicle Settings* in the
audio control unit or instrument cluster settings menu.
If the system detects that the collision risk has increased, FCA can automatically apply the
brakes to reduce your speed, potentially helping to reduce the effects of a possible collision.
FCA/FCW will become active when the:
• Engine Start/Stop button is ON.
• Vehicle is traveling faster than 5 mph.
• Electronic Stability Control (ESC) is ON.
BLIND-SPOT COLLISION-AVOIDANCE ASSIST (BCA)*
5
The BCA system uses radar sensors in the rear bumper to help alert the driver in certain
situations, such as if it detects an approaching vehicle in the driver’s blind spot area. The
system will activate when the vehicle is traveling faster than 20 mph and will alert the
driver if another vehicle is detected by the radar sensor.
To activate the BCA system, go to Vehicle Settings* in the audio control unit or
instrument cluster. Select Driver Assistance > Blind Spot Safety. Select Active Assist,
Warning Only or Off.
To set the initial warning activation time, go to Vehicle Settings in the audio control unit >
Driver Assistance > Warning Time. Select the Normal or the Later option.
With the Engine Start/Stop button in the ON position, press the BCA button to turn the system ON. The button light will
illuminate. The outside rearview mirror warning lights will also illuminate for 3 seconds.
Active Assist
– When Active Assist is selected in the settings, BCA may activate the Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and
temporarily apply braking power when an approaching vehicle is detected within a certain distance next to or behind the
vehicle. A warning message may appear on the Instrument Cluster LCD.
1st-stage alert:
When another vehicle is detected within the BCA system warning boundary, a yellow indicator will
illuminate on the outside rearview mirrors.
2nd-stage alert:
When 1st stage alert is on and the driver activates a turn signal, a flashing yellow indicator will
illuminate on the outside rearview mirrors and the system will sound an alert.
REAR CROSS-TRAFFIC COLLISION-AVOIDANCE ASSIST (RCCA)*
5
If RCCA detects approaching vehicles from the rear-left or rear-right side of the vehicle, the
system will sound an audible warning, the warning indicators on the outside rearview mirrors
will illuminate, and a message will appear on the LCD Instrument Cluster. RCCA may activate
the Electronic Stability Control to help avoid an imminent collision. RCCA may temporarily
apply braking power when an approaching vehicle is detected within a certain distance next
to or behind the vehicle.
RCCA is designed to operate under the following conditions:
• When the gear shift is in Reverse.
• When the vehicle is moving slower than 6 mph.
SMART CRUISE CONTROL (SCC) WITH STOP & GO SYSTEM*
5
The SCC with Stop & Go system is designed to maintain a speed and predetermined
distance from vehicles detected ahead by automatically adjusting the driving speed as
needed. When traffic is detected, the vehicle will slow down to maintain a set distance
behind traffic without depressing the accelerator or brake pedal.
With SCC on and activated, the vehicle-to-vehicle distance set, and when the system
detects a vehicle slowing or stopping, the system can bring the vehicle to a complete stop.
When the vehicle ahead starts to move forward, the SCC system re-engages. If the vehicle
ahead stops for more than 3 seconds, the accelerator pedal or the RES+ button must be
pressed to start moving the vehicle.
To set/adjust SCC speed:
• Press the CRUISE button
A
to turn the system ON. The CRUISE indicator will
illuminate on the instrument cluster.
• Accelerate/decelerate to the desired speed.
• Press (SET-) button
B
down to set speed. The SET indicator light will illuminate.
The set speed and vehicle-to-vehicle distance will illuminate on the LCD screen.
• Press (RES+) button
B
up or (SET-) button
B
down to adjust the set speed.
