What to do in an emergency Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)

5. After resetting the TPMS, drive the
vehicle for approximately 20 minutes
to store the new tyre pressure in the
system.
* If the low tyre pressure indicator turns
on repeat step 3.
When resetting TPMS, the current tyre
pressure is stored as a standard tyre
pressure.
* If the warning light does not blink or
the message does not pop up, per

CAUTION
If the system is set without adjusting tyre
pressure, false alarm could occur or the
telltale will not be displayed even though
the vehicle is significantly under-inflated.
Make sure all tyres are properly adjusted
to the recommended pressure when
resetting TPMS.
If the system is not set even in required
situations, false alarm could occur or the
telltale will not be displayed even though
the vehicle is significantly under-inflated.
If you push the TPMS reset button (2)
whilst driving, the TPMS reset process is
not activated. You must push the TPMS
reset button whilst the vehicle is at a
complete stop and press the switch (2)
for over 3 seconds.
僅 Be sure the tyre is cold before inflat

ing the pressure.
A cold tyre means the vehicle has
been sitting for 3 hours or driven
within 1.6 km (1 mile).
Indication of Low Tyre Pressure
Thetyre ( ) warning light will illuminate
when an under-inflated tyre is indicated.
In certain types, the above message
might be displayed on the cluster.
If the warning light illuminates, reduce
your speed, avoid hard cornering and
rapid braking. Have your vehicle
inspected by a professional workshop.
Kia recommends to visit an authorised
Kia dealer/service partner.
Check the pressure of all tyres and
inflate to the proper pressure according
to procedures, and if required, replace or
repair the tyres.
If you cannot reach a close service sta
-
tion, stop the vehicle at a safe place,
check all tyres and operate the TPMS
reset procedure. If you are unable to
adjust the tyre pressure, use the repair
tools to repair or change to spare tyre
and contact a professional workshop.
