Driving your vehicle Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) (Sensor fusion)
僅 Detecting vehicle
When the vehicle in front has heavy
loading extended rearward, or when the
vehicle in front has higher ground clear
-
ance, it may induce a hazardous situa
-
tion. Always pay attention to road and
driving conditions, whilst driving and, if
necessary, depress the brake pedal to
reduce your driving speed in order to
maintain distance.
Situation in which the function
may not detect pedestrian and
cyclist properly.
The sensor may be limited when:
僅 The pedestrian or cyclist is not fully
detected by the camera recognition
function, for example, if the pedes
-
trian is leaning over or is not fully
walking upright.
僅 The pedestrian or cyclist is moving
very quickly or appears abruptly in
the camera detection area.
僅 The pedestrian or cyclist is wearing
clothing that easily blends into the
background, making it difficult to be
detected by the camera recognition
system.
僅 The outside lighting is too bright (e.g.
when driving in bright sunlight or in
sun glare) or too dark. (e.g. when driv
-
ing on a dark rural road at night)
僅 It is difficult to detect and distinguish
the pedestrian or cyclist from other
objects in the surroundings, for exam
-
ple, when there is a group of pedestri
-
ans, cyclists or a large crowd.
僅 There is an item similar to a person’s
body structure
僅 The pedestrian or cyclist is small.
僅 The pedestrian has impaired mobility.
僅 The sensor recognition is limited.
僅 The radar sensor or camera is blocked
with a foreign object or debris.
僅 Inclement weather such as heavy rain
or snow obscures the field of view of
the radar sensor or camera.
僅 When light coming from a street light
or an oncoming vehicle is reflected on
a wet road surface such as a puddle in
the road.
僅 The field of view in front is obstructed
by sun glare.
僅 The windscreen glass is fogged up; a
clear view of the road is obstructed.
僅 The adverse road conditions cause
excessive vehicle vibrations whilst
driving.
僅 The sensor recognition changes sud

denly when passing over a speed
bump.
僅 You are on a roundabout.
僅 The pedestrian or cyclist suddenly
interrupts in front of the vehicle.
僅 There is any other electromagnetic
interference.
僅 The cyclist in front is riding inter

sected with the driving direction.
僅 The construction area, rail or other
metal object is near the cyclist.
