Air cleaner (Smartstream G1.0/G1.2)
2. Wipe the inside of the air cleaner
hose.
3. Replace the air cleaner filter.
4. Lock the air cleaner hose with the
cover attaching clips.
Replace the filter according to the Main
-
tenance Schedule.If the vehicle is oper
-
ated in extremely dusty or sandy areas,
replace the element more often than the
usual recommended intervals. (Refer to
"Scheduled maintenance service" on
page 8-12.)
CAUTION
僅 Do not drive with the air cleaner
removed; this will result in excessive
engine wear.
僅 When removing the air cleaner filter,
be careful that dust or dirt does not
enter the air intake, or damage may
result.
僅 Use parts for replacement from a pro

fessional workshop. Kia recommends
to visit an authorised Kia dealer/ser

vice partner.

Filter replacement
It must be replaced when necessary, and
should not be washed.
You can clean the filter when inspecting
the air cleaner element.
Clean the filter by using compressed air.
1. Loosen the air cleaner cover attaching
clips.
2. Remove the air cleaner cover.
3. Replace the air cleaner filter.
4. Reassemble in the reverse order of
disassembly.
