Automated Manual Transmission (AMT)
Transmission (clutch) overheated
僅 If the vehicle continues to be driven
and the clutch temperatures reach the
maximum temperature limit, the
“Transmission hot! Park with engine
On” warning will be displayed.
僅 The warning will display a time to wait
for the transmission to cool.
僅 If this occurs, pull over to a safe loca
-
tion, stop the vehicle with the engine
running, apply the brakes and shift
the vehicle to N (Neutral), and allow
the transmission to cool.
僅 When the message “Transmission
cooled down. Resume driving”
appears you can continue to drive
your vehicle.
僅 When possible, drive the vehicle
smoothly.If any of the warning mes
-
sages in the LCD display continue to
blink, for your safety, have the system
checked by a professional work
-
shop.Kia recommends to visit an
authorised Kia dealer/service partner.
Transmission ranges
R (Reverse)
Use this position to drive the vehicle
backward.
NOTICE
僅 Always come to a complete stop
before shifting into R (Reverse) posi

tion.
僅 When moving to R (Reverse) position
the gear is not shifted if the vehicle
speed is over 2 km/h (1 mph).
僅 Depress the brake pedal fully. If not,
the brake press indicator will illumi
-
nate and the gear is not shifted.
N (Neutral)
The wheels and transmission are not
engaged.Use N (Neutral) if you need to
restart a stalled engine, or if it is neces
-
sary to stop with the engine ON. Always
depress the brake pedal when you are
shifting from N (Neutral) to another
gear.
