the e-key in the trunk, but keep it in
your possession at all times.
Start-up
You can start the engine without
inserting the key. For detailed infor-
mation refer to the chapter 4 of this
manual for starting the engine with
an e-key.
Deactivating of e-key
When using 2 e-keys, if you lock a
door with e-key A from outside of the
vehicle, while the following all condi-
tions are met, e-key B will be deacti-
vated.
• the ignition switch is in the LOCK
position.
• e-key is removed from the ignition
switch.
• e-key B is placed in the vehicle.
If this occurs, the alarm will sound for
approximately 6 seconds. However,
the function of start-up possible with
inserting e-key B and the unlock but-
ton on it can be operated.
When trying to activate e-key B,
unlock a door with e-key A or press
the unlock button on e-key B.
While using the e-key, take note
of the following facts:
1. The e-key door lock/unlock func-
tion will work only when all doors
are closed.
2. When unlocking a door using the
e-key, activation occurs 0.5 sec-
ond after you initially grip the out-
side door handle. Therefore, wait
0.5 second before trying to open
door.
3. While in possession of an e-key, a
door may inadvertently be
unlocked if a front outside door
handle is touched or when high-
pressurized car washing is occur-
ring.
4. When leaving the vehicle, always
keep your e-key with you.
