Driving your vehicle

Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) (sensor

fusion)

though the braking system is 
operating normally.

driver approaching the side view 
of a parked vehicle (for example 
on a dead end street). In these 
cases, you must maintain a safe 
braking distance, and if neces

sary, depress the brake pedal to 
reduce the driving speed in order 
to maintain a safe distance.

䳜 The regular braking function will 

operate normally even if there is a 
problem with FCA system brake 
control system or other functions. 
In this case, the autonomous 
braking will not operate in the risk

Limitations of the system

FCA system is designed to monitor 
the vehicle ahead in the roadway 
through camera recognition and 
radar signals to warn the driver that 
a collision is imminent, and if neces

sary, apply emergency braking.

In certain situations, the radar sen

sor or the camera may not be able 
to detect the vehicle ahead. In these 
cases, FCA system may not operate 
normally. The driver must pay care

-

ful attention in the following situa

tions where FCA system operation 
may be limited.

Recognizing vehicles

The sensor may be limited when:
䳜 The front view camera or front 

radar sensor is blocked with a 
foreign object or debris

䳜 The camera lens is contaminated 

due to tinted, filmed or coated 
windshield, damaged glass, or 
stuck of foreign matter (sticker, 
bug, etc.) on the glass 

䳜 Inclement weather such as heavy 

rain or snow obscures the field of 
view of the radar sensor or cam

䳜 There is interference by electro

magnetic waves

䳜 There is severe irregular reflection 

from the radar sensor

䳜 The front view camera/front 

radar sensor recognition is limited
