Assist (FCA) (sensor fusion)
FCA system is designed to detect
and monitor a vehicle ahead or
detect a pedestrian or cyclist in the
roadway through camera recogni
-
tion and radar signals to warn the
driver that a collision is imminent,
and if necessary, apply emergency
braking.
* FCA stands for Forward Collision-
Avoidance Assist.
* Sensor fusion (front view
front radar) FCA system operates
for the vehicle ahead, the pedes
-
trian or the cyclist in front.

FCA system is a supplemental sys

tem and is not a substitute for safe
driving practices.
It is the responsibility of the driver
to always check the speed and dis
-
tance to the vehicle ahead and to be
prepared to apply the brakes.

Take the following precautions
when using Forward Collision-Avoid

ance Assist system:
䳜 This system is only a supplemen
-
tal system and it is not intended
to, nor does it replace the need
for the extreme care and atten
-
tion of the driver. The sensing
range and objects detectable by
the sensors are limited. Pay
attention to the road conditions
at all times.
䳜 NEVER drive too fast in accor -
dance with the road conditions or
while cornering.
䳜 Always drive cautiously to prevent
unexpected and sudden situations
from occurring. FCA system does
not stop the vehicle completely
and is only intended to help miti
-
gate an imminent collision.
System setting and activation
The driver can activate FCA by plac -
ing the POWER button to the ON
position and by selecting:
䳜 Go to the 'User Settings → Driver
Assistance → Forward Collision-
Avoidance Assist' on the LCD dis
-
play.
FCA system deactivates, when the
driver cancels the system setting.
