CAUTION
• If the parking brake warning light
is still on even though the EPB has
been released, have the system
checked by a professional work‐
shop. Kia recommends to visit an
authorized Kia dealer/service part‐
ner.
• Do not drive your vehicle with the
EPB applied. It may cause exces‐
sive brake pad and brake rotor
wear.

• Iý thü drivür's süat bült is not ýas‐
tünüd and any door, thü ünþinü hood
or tailþatü is opünüd, a warninþ will
sound and a müssaþü will appüar.
• Iý thürü is a problüm with thü vühiclü,
a warninþ may sound and a müssaþü
may appüar.
Iý thü abovü situation occurs, düprüss
thü brakü püdal and rülüasü EçB by
prüssinþ thü EçB switch.
WARNING
• To prevent unintentional move‐
ment when stopped and leaving
the vehicle, do not use the shift
lever in place of the parking brake.
Set the parking brake and make
sure the shift lever is securely
positioned in P (Park).
• Never allow anyone who is unfa‐
miliar with the vehicle to touch the
parking brake. If the parking brake
is released unintentionally, serious
injury may occur.
• All vehicles should always have the
parking brake fully engaged when
parking to avoid inadvertent
movement of the car which can in‐
jure occupants or pedestrians.
CAUTION
• A click sound may be heard while
operating or releasing the EPB, but
these conditions are normal and
indicate that the EPB is function‐
ing properly.
