Compliance Eye Height and Eye Width Verification
Purpose and Method
This procedure verifies the possibility with the calibrated setup, of
archiving the Eye Height (EH) and Eye Width (EW) within the specification
range.
For this purpose, the EZJIT+ application running on the real-time scope is
used. All jitter components (such as SSC, SJSWEEP, RJ, ISI, CMI) are set
to their compliance values using the corresponding calibration. The value
for ‘SJFIXED’ is set to obtain the target Total Jitter by using the Total Jitter
Calibration. The value for differential voltage is set to obtain the target eye
height by using the Eye Opening Calibration.
Thereafter, the EH and EW are measured with the oscilloscope and
compared with the specification range.
This calibration is only available for HBR3 data rate, for TP2 and TP3; and
for each Lane. It must be repeated for different ‘SJSWEEP’ frequencies:
500KHz, 1MHz, 2MHz, 10MHz, 20MHz and 100MHz.
