Step 4: Verify Operation of the Signal Generator
In this step, the operation of the M9384B VXG is verified. Before running the verification
procedure, ensure that the instrument is powered on.
Conduct a Self Test
To verify the operation of the M9384B VXG, conduct a Self Test.
Before running a Self Test, make sure that the instrument is powered on, and all
cabling is correct.
1. Launch the M9384B application.
2. Click the Gear
icon on the top right corner to open the System dialog window.
3. Select Diagnostics.
4. Click Run Self Test.
If the Self Test passes (see results below), go to Step 5: Generate and View an
Output Signal .
If the Self Test fails, it indicates that the instrument is likely to need service. Refer
to
Return an Instrument for Service .
