2 Programming the Test Set
Common Commands
Service Request Enable
This command enables the desired bits of the service request enable register.
The query returns the value of the register, indicating which bits are currently enabled.

Example
*SRE 22 Enables bits 1, 2, and 4 in the service request enable register.

Status Byte Query
Returns the value of the status byte register without erasing its contents.
Remote Command
*STB?
Example
*STB? Returns a decimal value for the bits in the status byte register.
For example, if a 16 is returned, it indicates that bit 5 is set and one of the conditions monitored in
the standard event status register is set.

Trigger
This command triggers the instrument. Use the :TRIGger[:SEQuence]:SOURce command to select the
trigger source.

instrument settings.
