Once the plot looks like the example above in Figure 9-7 on page 14, the
Offset and Gain are properly set and the Z Sensor is usable over its
entire range.

Select the CL Sweep check box. The plot should change from the
one above to that shown in Figure 9-8 :

In the Scanner Setup Closed Loop tab, adjust the Z Range setting to
maximize the range. A typical starting value is 19 V.
NOTE
The Z piezo is highly sensitive to changes in Offset and Gain. To change
these values in smaller increments, click the mouse in the Offset or Gain
box. Hold down the
Ctrl key while pressing the Up or Down arrows to
change the parameter in 0.01 steps. Hold down the Ctrl and Shift keys
while pressing the Up or Down arrow keys to change the values in
0.001 increments.
