The following figures also show the termination switch settings for the paralleled stack.
For models N69143A N69145A, and N69146A, any unit in the parallel stack may be designated as the
"primary" unit. The first and last units in the stack must have the switch set to the "terminated"
position. The switches of the in-between units must be set to "unterminated". If only two units are
paralleled, both units must have their switches set to "terminated". A current-sharing fault (CSF) may
occur if the switches are set incorrectly.
For models N69172A and N69173A, the unit designated as the primary unit must be located at one
end of the parallel stack with it's switch set as shown in the "Primary termination" figure. The other end
unit in the stack must have its switch set as shown in the "End termination" figure. The switches of the
in-between units must be set as shown under "Unterminated". If only two units are paralleled, one
unit must have its switches set as the primary, and the other must have its switched set as the end
units. A current-sharing fault (CSF) may occur if the switches are set incorrectly.

Series Connections
Series connections are not permitted under any circumstances.
SHOCK HAZARD/LETHAL VOLTAGES Series connections are not permitted for many
reasons. One reason is that exceeding the maximum float voltages ratings given in the
characteristics tables is extremely dangerous and it is impossible to guarantee safe
voltage balance when using bidirectional instruments in series.
